“Don’t document the problem, fix it!”
SignSupport is a mobile application that helps to build a communication link between a Deaf person and a pharmacist when a Deaf person visiting a public hospital pharmacy. The medical information of the Deaf person is stored in the SD card the mobile phone. The aim of this mobile application is to prevent problems of non-compliance to treatment due to poor communication between a Deaf patient and a pharmacist.
The medical information of the Deaf person that is stored on the mobile phone's SD card is confidential and needs to be protected from intruders. The SD card can be easily removed from the mobile phone. This makes the SD card unsafe to store sensitive data such as the Deaf person's medical information. In order to protect the medical information that is stored in the SD card, we need to implement a security feature in SignSupport. This security feature has to be platform independent, so that the sensitive information remains protected even if the SD card is removed from the mobile phone.
