SIP based IM on Mobile Devices.
This thesis evaluates the Session Initiation Protocol implementation of instant messaging on mobile and other devices in Voice over Internet Protocol solution. The evaluation focuses on developing media session amongst user agent clients and “kiara” (user agent server).
We investigate by creating, modifying and terminating two-party (unicast) or multiparty (multicast)
sessions consisting of one or several media streams. The modification can involve changing addresses or ports, inviting more participants, and adding or deleting media
The conclusion of this analysis is that Voice over Internet Protocol solutions such as Session Initiation Protocol applications is exploitable, and that there is need for more support as implementations lagging behind as demand is on an exponential rise.
