User Requirements Documentation Project Problem: The user’s view.
The user would like to play games on his /her cellular phone and expects these games to be of African origin, e.g. Boa, Bantumi, Wari, Omweso, Mankala, etc.
The user would
like to be able choose the game(s) from either, (1)
gaming options on the
cellular phone or, (2) download the game via
a wireless connection from his/her
service provider (e.g. MTN, Cell C or Vodacom) or
cellular phone manufacturer
(e.g. Nokia, Sony-Erickson, etc).
The user
expects the games not to be too challenging or to in depth to
be able to play
it.
The user
expects a guide or explanation in order to learn how to play
the game.
Brief description of the
problem domain.
The problem
domain can be divided into two sections: Developing a game(s) that are played on the African continent for cellular phone users.
Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) services and Bluetooth technology allows a cellular phone user to access to a central server from which they can download or play a game(s).
Complete description of the problem
domain.
Good user interface. Considering that these will be implemented on cellular phones it restricts the user interface to a certain size. Most cellular phones have small screens on which graphics can be displayed.
A game that is easy to play. The user does not want to become bored while playing the game because it is too difficult to understand.
A brief description on the rules of the game, like a compressed user’s guide. The user would like to know how to play the game before he/she actually plays it.
The game should be playable by two players being either:
Player/user (human) and computer or Player1 (human) and Player2 (human).
What is expected from the software?
The user is expected to have fun playing the game. The game should
be easy to play. The game should
allow for a single player (versus computer) and multiple players (two human
players). The game is expected to be easily downloadable to cellular phone.
What is not expected from the software?
The user does
not expect the game to be too difficult to play and understand. The game should not be too big (size) so that it is either impossible to download or takes a very long time to download. The user would not like an interface that is too elaborate.
